Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by the Wadsworth – the butler, Miss Scarlett, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up. This will not be an auditioned production; interested students will write a short paragraph dictating what they would like to learn and what intimidates them about monologues, which are a necessity to the Actor for auditioning both scholastically and professionally.
Rehearsals: February 23 - April 23 (T TH SAT)
Shows: Filmed April 23rd – May 2nd
Objective: With this monologue production, cast members experiences during the pandemic will be used to create a filmed production, experiences from either in-school or social life, to teach them how to write and perform a series of monologues that will be filmed and streamed to showcase their stories. In the process they will learn the techniques used to break down monologues structurally and to write and perform their own effectively and specifically.
Creativity is a passion that must be fed to thrive; many have struggled during the pandemic due to its effect upon the Arts at large and the disassociation occurring from limited personal connection to a screen. Cast members will have a chance to dig into their own aspirations and frustrations during this period, to chronicle and present them in a manner which will 'permanently' reflect this pivotal time in their lives for years to come.
